Calculating booking fees:

On Occasion, you have three types of bookings; paid, free and gift card purchases:

1. Booking fees are assessed when a customer pays for a booking with their credit card.
2. Booking fees are not assessed on free bookings (no payment needed).
3. Booking fees are not assessed on gift card purchases.

Collecting booking fees:

The way Occasion collects booking fee varies by the payment gateway you use and which country you are located in.

In this example, we are going to assume the order total is $50 for two seats:

There are two scenarios in which you get invoiced for booking fees: 0 results for.

• You are based outside of the United States. (see 1 and 2 in table above)
• You are based in the U.S. but using a gateway other than Square to process payments (see 3 and 4 in table above).

If you belong to one of the groups above, Occasion will invoice you. When you pass-on the fees to the customers, Occasion deposits the booking fees in your bank account and charges your credit card once a week.

Changing the who pays booking fee

You may decide to change who pays the booking fee from business paying to having your customer pay.

1. From your Occasion account, click on 'Settings' on the top-right corner.
2. Under 'Billing', click on 'Change booking fee'.

Common Questions:

1. What happens when bookings are cancelled?
   1. If you are using Square - when a credit card refund is processed on a booking, a proportional refund is also processed to the customer through Occasion. Example, if you process a $50 refund on $100 total, Occasion will refund 50% of the booking fees to the customer.
   2. In every other scenario, booking fees are non-refundable.

Both of Modern Steak's locations (and their sister restaurants Modern Burger and Modern Ocean) boast contemporary styling, cool music, and a laid-back atmosphere, but the menu is completely serious when it comes to the steak. All of the cuts are specific to Alberta ranches, with the prized Modern Benchmark black angus beef coming specifically from the offspring of a bull owned by the restaurant.

Calgary is full of restaurants that serve tasty meals from every region of India, but Moti Mahal has thrived for decades thanks to its refined décor, family-run atmosphere, and extraordinarily prepared Indian dishes. For Italian food from the heart: Vero Bistro

Vero Bistro isn't the most famous restaurant in Calgary, but it definitely has one of the most loyal customer bases. Regulars flock to the small Kensington restaurant to enjoy food prepared by chef Jenny Chan, whose passion for Italian cuisine shines strong in all of her dishes. Her regular menu is full of Italian classics such as veal meatballs in Bolognese sauce, angel hair aglio e olio, and pork Milanese, but Chan is also known for her specials, including evolving creations available for pandemic take-out meals.

For small plates and interesting wine: Von Der Fels

Since it opened in 2016, Von Der Fels (previously known as Bar Von Der Fels) has been serving some of the city's most deliciously imaginative food. While it's well-positioned as a trustworthy wine bar — anything they're pouring is going to be good — dishes such as the signature hasselback potatoes with Fogo Island crab and brown butter are what really make VDF stand out. The dining room recently reopened to comply with COVID-19 guidelines; the restaurant is very small and tables are limited, so reservations are essential.
